Perspectives from an H-2B Participant

Many people around the world are interested in the H-2B program, but the process can be intimidating. H2-B Visa USA helps employers and workers through the process. If you’re thinking about applying to our program, we wanted to give you a sense of what to expect, so we asked a participant who’s about to travel to the US from Brazil what the experience has been like so far.

Is this your first time getting a visa to work in the United States?
Yes, but I already had a visa for visit (tourism)

How was your experience working with InterExchange and your US employer throughout the visa process?
It was great, both could not have been more attentive! They always clarify any questions that I had and were always giving news about the process, which was great because it gave me a lot of safety for the trip.

What was your experience like at your local consulate?
The interview at the consulate is a bit tiring, because there are too much people and there are a lot of queues as well, but in the end everything worked out.

What are you most looking forward to about your upcoming exchange/job opportunity?
I hope to learn a lot about American culture, learn the language of course, and I will make every effort to do a good job.

Is this a process that you would participate in again or recommend to friends?
Definitely, I was very satisfied and secure about the travel. Everyone ho wants to travel should have a good monitoring like this.
